The fuel gauge will be a resistance range, you may need to email the mfg. to find out which type they use. (or if the sender is still out you can ohm it) Search "fuel sender" here and you'll see the types listed. Typically, there are different versions of the same fuel guage to match the sender.
As far as the pulse sender stuff you have listed, this is referring to the speed sending unit, there are different methods of producing the pulse (ie: magnetic, optical) but the output of the sender is the same regardless of the method used. Same holds true for distributor pickups, they all have to do the same thing, fire the coil.
