The owner of lone Star does not know what I have. He did give me the ph. number of the company that makes his fuel tank. "vehicle controls". I left a message. I may also call VDO.

I really don't want to take out the sender, as it's a real pain. I would have to remove the tank because the sender is on top and can not be reached. He said I could also remove the carpet and cut a hole in the truck floor. Hate to do that also.

Is there a pig tail connection somewhere the wire harness that I could check the ohms, or at the gauge ?

If all else fails without removing the tank, I'll just use the VDO I have. It looks similar,... to the Smith's.
