Well here is my sad tale.
Took the car out yesterday to tryout the new/modified video camera mount. That was a success.
When I pulled off of hwy 18, I noticed that the passenger side exhaust sounded a little funny. I figured it was probably an exhaust gasket. Got home and let it idle in the driveway and went around to listen to it. Nope, not an exhaust gasket.
Opened the hood and I could then hear a lifter ticking. Damn, not what I needed, but then not the end of the world either.
Pulled it in the garage and after it cooled down a little, I pulled the valve cover on that side. It's got the Ford SVO roller rockers and one of the adjustment set screws was laying loose in the head. Thank god it did not go down an
oil return galley. I then noticed that four other rockers were loose. It's got a Crane came with hydraulic roller tappets. Okay, so I have to go back and reset all the valves.
Got off of work today and came home to get it done. Started with the intake on cylinder number 4. Got it done and then went to the exhaust. The head of the adjustment nut snapped off.
So, to wrap this up, I have new roller rockers and ARP studs on order. Should be here on Monday. Really glad this did not happen when we were on vacation, and I'm hoping this will be the end of the problems.
Hope the weather is nice for you tomorrow and you have a nice ride.
