Hey guys, I've been trying to get a friend of mine 67 GT500 up and running and I need help! I finally got all the brake problems done and out of the way and then out of know where the carbs have taken a dump! The owner had the carbs re done 9 years ago from Pony Carbs and now they are acting up. The front runs pretty good but the back has a sticking throttle shaft and leaks gas now. The car was running perfect and then it would just bogg down horribly when the gas was mashed. After this, the car would not idle and I had to rev it constantly to get it home.
The question is should I get the Carl's ford replacement carbs, get these rebuilt again, or is their a better dual Holley set up that isn't a "
zinc" carb???? I see a lot of white build up in certain areas but I haven't taken anything apart yet. I've been reading up on the whole too much ethanol in the gas. Could these be probs as he doesn't put very many miles on the car at all. This is a pretty stock motor and I don't need a double throw down set up BUT Carls' carbs are 1K+ so whats my options??
Thanks for all and any help!! Matt
