The SBC for many years enjoyed a significant price and power advantage due to better aftermarket parts, wider availability of used parts and lower prices. I've built a few and used to love them. Cheap parts everywhere and lots of expertise to learn from. But any meaningful advantage ended about 10 years ago as the SBF caught up and passed it.

Recent example....the new Mustang GT beats the new Camaro and Challenger in about all categories.....with a lots less cubes. Why has Ford won (and placed) more engines in the Engine Masters? A couple of years they won first, second, third, fifth, sixth etc. Where were all the more powerful for less money Chevy's?

Chevy has some nice newer series motors, no question. Not necessarily more powerful then Ford stuff though.
