" Whats one to do if they own an older Mustang but would like the power and fuel efficiency of the 2011 Mustang GT's 5.0L engine? How about those who would love to experience the thrill of driving the 2011 Shelby GT500 but just can't afford the monthly payments? Well maybe Ford Racing has the answer for you. Word is that Ford Racing Performance Parts will soon offer both the 2011 5.0L and 5.4L powerplants in crate form. That means that anyone with enough cash will be able to pick up a FRPP catalog and order either engine and slip them into their older Mustang, project car or truck, or even a kit car. Think about it, how cool would one of those Shelby Cobra kit cars be with that massive GT500 engine shoehorned into its engine bay? "
" The part number for the 412hp Ford Racing 5.0L crate engine will be M-6007-M5L and the 550hp 5.4L crate engine will be M-6007-A54SC. Both will be available as complete engines but neither will include the power steering pump or A/C compressor. Although Ford Racing has yet to release pricing on these two engines expect to see them later this summer. "
