I went that route with my car. After paying for the appraisal, I then realized I didn't need the apprasial to have it insured (at least with the insurance company I used). And yes it was pricey. I just don't want to see you make the same mistake I made!!
Not sure what you mean by "outcomes", but if it is for insurance, make sure you know the difference between "stated value" and "agreed value". Big difference. I was fortunate enough to have someone here enlighten me.
