I had some issues with strut fit on a BDR car myself, yea...too short, too long, blah, blah, blah. Just put some washers in it. lol! BTW, the washer trick, tried it, did not for me. Would not hold the strut in position after a drive.
So, take a look at the backdraftboy forum post http://www.backdraftboys.com/viewtop...&t=441&start=0 . got some pictures of the gabriel vs KBY (didn't try the Bilsten units...to stiff for me) and the fix needed (for me a custom machined washer). It's alot of F*#ing around, but you may need to do something like this if you want a good secure fit of a strut. Not sure if this will help on your Venom car, but if they use the BWM/VW/custom coilovers front end, it may...
