I use magentic oil plugs on my remote filter, oil pan and any where else they can go (cheap insurance if they catch something).

I would imagine if you think that it would work, you purchase a Neodymium magnet and just have it on your oil filter. Super strong magnet, cheap and would certainly pull anything that is magnetically receptive.

I cannot see why it would hurt and its cheap insurance.
