A friend of mine, agonizing over the blue for his 427", finally had a shop put several of his favorites in spray cans...used a dented car fender and painted large swatches side by side.

It was not just having the colors side by side, but at the same ANGLE to the light and viewing angle. Differences stand out much more under those conditions.

Just make sure which ever you pick, it doesn't tend to have a cast/shade you find annoying...I have seen one rich maroon paint chip that was practically purple under some circumstances. Didn't like that a bit, but with small paint chips it can sure be hard to tell...
