A good tip from Woodz428

It is not uncommon to see an inner cable just a tad bit too long. If you allow the condition to continue for too long, you not only have the bouncing speedo, but eventually you will kill the speedo from the pressure of the cable (I know this from experience!).

I sent my speedo out to Nissonger this year after it had stopped working, and they made mention that too long of an inner cable is a prime cause of speedo damage. Once they repaired my speedo (and reverser), I replaced the cable assy with one of their custom SPF units, and it has been rock solid since.

Bottom line. Don't just put up with the bouncing speedo. Fix it, or it will cost you more, later.
