took it out again today and everything is looking good. dry like a bone on the outside, i think i count something like 30 potential leakage points on this dry sump setup not counting the engine proper. checking the screen filters and smaller amounts of metal particles then the first time and there wasn't much then. i think metal particles are like oil leaks, no matter how careful they always show up.

i finally got to use the carburetor stan justus built for roger davidson and it works great, no hesitation, lean spots or anything. afr is right in the 13-13.5 range at moderate acceleration and dives down to the 12.5 range under full throttle. i don't know what he charges now for a carb but it is a top notch piece, i would sell any of my other carbs but this one is a keeper.
