Default More slabside

Been quite a few changes since my original post in 2008.

Yes, I did forget to include the Aurora. I have never actually seen one in person, certainly would be an option, they do not appear to come up for sale too often. I also left off the obvious being Shelby American. Like many of us my options are limited by a perceived budget. For awhile, it appeared that Factory Five was going to do both a slabside & an FIA but that appears to be dead forever. I did get to meet Mr Bruce at a SAAC convention and my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa and would love to buy a FF MkIV and turn him lose on swapping for one of his bodies as I saw some of the nice work he does. In the meantime, short of doing nothing, I took some advice from this forum and put a deposit on an ERA slabside in November 2009 to quote "get in line". I check status periodically with Peter . . .

We all have our reasons why we like 289 or 427 cars. I grew up watching the 289 cars race at Watkins Glen and spent many years racing formula cars in the SCCA. Alot of $$$$ down the black hole of racing, no regrets but I am interested in building something I can enjoy & drive anywhere. I think Jim Holden said it best in a post a couple of days ago that "sometimes less is more". I can relate to that, just need to get this done while I am still young (60?).
