Yes it needs a drilled and tapped hole in the shaft to line up with the cancelling cams. Then that needs a slot and a short strip of metal. The steering is only 3 turns lock to lock on a Cobra so the screw needs to hold the blade right between the cams or else you need a whole turn of the wheel to cancel directionals.
