Tell him he is a stupid fuk. Cobras are registered in texas as the year they are built with the key note under remarks "replica 1965". So if built in 2005 it would say 2005 special construction and under remarks "replica 1965". Now if you are transferring it may be more challenging the easiest would be to used one which says 1965 and they will title 1965.

There is an excellent thread somewhere on cc detailing how to title a new cobra in texas, used may be different.

Once it titled, or you have the green sheet all they used is the insurance card which your agent will write any year on and that is all the inspection station uses.
