These are pure slicks, although Roger Krause will hand cut a tread pattern if you wish. When new, they stick like glue (and throw stones) until they reach the limit, then they break loose suddenly. This is what slicks do, so maybe you are ok with that. I just discarded mine after three years, they got hard.

Better all around tire of this type is the Sports Car Special (the venerable "Billboard") - still not DOT, but a good all around tire for street or track. Made on the same carcass, but with tread. Very forgiving at the limit, you can tell when they are about to go. Depends on your level ...
