The pedal's adjustable as we all know and the clutch fully engages before hitting the floor, so you shouldn't need any new master/slave cylinder. You could move it to the traditional location. My legs are short and I've got problems with my ankle so I like to rest the left foot on the dead pedal, and just slide it over onto the clutch. I'll attached a picture after adjusting it back to a more traditional position. Gotta keep my reputation in tact here
Ankle problems or not, I'm NOT going to drive an Automatic... Yuk.
As for "bending" ERA Modified the footwells and the pedals to fit around the huge engine, much like they would for a 427 SOHC motor I bet. I have not altered them since they built the chassis.
