In the UK it is/was called Autotesting and I used to do that every other weekend in the 70s (other weekends were for road rallies) Once you got a car with bald rear tires, a good fiddle-brake and a love of revs, it's not as hard as you might think. Not 'easy' of course but once you get into the groove and are blessed with a sensitive bum and fingertips, it's darn good fun. I was far from the best (no budget) but I knew guys back in the day who could match that performance and not hit the bollards or wall - or grass verges. And not shred rear tires for 'fun' :-( I just wish I had had that much power though....a Bugeye Sprite and a Mini Cooper lacked the grunt!
