I contacted AFR about their heads. They are recommending the 185 heads. The dyno sheet for the heads show I will loose some bottom end torque going with the 185 heads as opposed to the 165 heads. The flow numbers they give are impressive.
AFR is concerned that the 165 heads will flatten out on the flow around 5000 to 5500 rpm. The 185 will increase in flow past my redline of 6500. I am going to try and increase my peak rpm even more with the new motor.
I sent AFR a question regarding valve clearence and will order a set once they provide an answer. I will check the valve clearence before I run the engine, but I would like to be fairly sure before I purchase them.
