Post Tachometer repair needed

I have cable driven Jones-Motrola tachometer that I am planning to use but it needs to have the drive ratio changed from 4-1 to 2-1. I got it out of a Formula Ford and I think they use the 4-1 ratio to slow down the cable speed because of the sharpe bends encountered. From what I understand the Jones instrument company no longer exists having sold to an aircraft consortium that wants to do away with the tachometer portion of the business. Can anyone confirm this and possibly suggest a good source to have this repair done? The tach head is brand new.

Thanks
Rick

PS 2/03/02...Answered my own question....Shulze Mfg. of Waterbury Ct purchased tachometer division, does repairs and manufactures new units as well.
