kgs365 Any chance of getting a frist name?? Anyway to pervent spider spots in the fender area, buy about 3-4 cans of under coating and spray enough coat to make it about 1/4". Somewhere on the road you will pickup a rock or something and the fender will get hit. It doesn't matter what color the car is. This will save the paint. If you didn't like the black color, they sell an auto shield that works the same why but is off clear in color.
You didn't say what the rearend ratios but guessing either a 3.07 or 3.31. The the torque your motor makes down bottom, you will be MORE than happy to drive it.
ERA builds great exhaust side pipes. I think their main interest is to allow you to drive, keep your hearing on the left side and talk to someone in the car. This takes a quiet system. I have used mine for 14 years of racing and 2 different motors. I now have a race pipes, louder and found the missing power I built in the motor. Cruising the pipes cost you 5-10 hp and torque, WOT you are in the 15-40 hp on the top end and about the same for torque.
If your motor was built with 427 main caps and side bolts, Nobody is going to know it's not a 427 but the machinist and you. You will have about the same power with lower compression and better drivibility and money in your pocket for gas.
It's getting very hard to find a good 427 block. The max over bore is .030" because of how they where forged, thin walls. Ponds sells a correct dated block in iron or aluminum if you are looking for the perfect correct look. Get a year or 2 under your belt of driving the car, goto some driving schools for handling, then goto a bigger nasty motor. By this time, gas could be $5.00 or more per gallon. So short sunday drives maybe all you can afford to do.
No to worry someguy in the white house has a plan.
