This just in, from the good folks over at SCOF...

Apparently the body for the Superformance MkIII was originally based on the Contemporary Classics Cobra replica, which itself was based on CSX3045.

Jimmy Price ended up making several important revisions to the body shape, both to address some imperfections in the Contemporary body and to improve some of the aesthetics. Click here for the full story.

I imagine this could end up being a very familiar story. That is, that many of the replicas we enjoy were themselves based on other replica makes, instead of original Cobras.
