I think that if you are going to paint your own car you need to consider 2 things:

1) Your sanity

2) Painting it a color that isn't defect critical - in other words, it is a bad idea to (as a first attempt at painting) to paint your car black.

Which leads to a question.....it is generally agreed that black shows any defects the most. What color shows defects the least? Is white the obvious answer?

What about primer color - shouldn't this be a color similar to the color coat? (assuming the use of guide coats for prep)
