Gregg,

A key factor here is not just torque, but a design flaw. A number of these nut/adapter systems have been found to have disparity between the angle on the nut face and the angle of the mating recess in the adapter. So reassembling what you have with Loctite and proper torque may not be the answer. An easy way to check is to stick a business card or some other stiff object with a 90 degree corner down into the stud hole in the adapter. Then check that against the angle on the pin nut. Via this method you should be able to eyeball if the two are different. Or a machine shop could tell you quickly. Either way, you need to verify this before reassembling anything or it can happen again.
