I painted for years using a Binks model 7, once considered the industry standard. I got an HVLP gun from an auto parts store for about $100. It's a clone of the more expensive gun, but works the same. Easy to use, less mess, less material used. I still have the Binks, but it's a museum piece! I woudn't use it for primer anymore. You can have your primer tinted the color you are painting by the paint store, works very well. Chips are less likely to show as much. Good luck, but, be careful. The new paints are easy to use, if you follow directions to the letter, but are dangerous. A proper respirator, or, an air supply unit are the only way to paint. I have heard of deaths resulting from careless painting.
