I really like the idea of the Air-Gap! My problem is that I am running a Performer intake and already I have clearance issues....as you can see from the photo below, the top of my K&N X-Stream filter is within 1/4" if the underside of the scoop already.



I have heard that Mustang convertible motor mounts lower the engine by 3/4", and if I have a bit milled from the carb pad, that might well extend the clearance gain to 1 1/4".

That might be enough, considering I am not willing to go with a shorter K&N (at least, not yet).
