The oval air cleaners originaly from Ford were for the three 2v's and a taller element fot the two 4v's.Back in 69 it was commonm to use the taller element on the tri-power. Now we're talking about little Cobras. I have a EM with the little scoop.I also have a 427 FE w/2x4 tunnel wedge manifold.The current setup is S&H cleaners with the foam and perferated steel trimed and tapered to fit under the hood .They hit the hood front and rear.I,m planning on having the top of the manifold milled to get the height down. I have the K&N elements ,still in box for the S&H's.I still think I'm going to pull a vacum at the cleaners.I'm looking at alternatives like a Turkey pan of pan to get fresh air from the outside,a new hood w/ a larger (non traditional) hood scoop.I have even considered the new F&N dula four setup but it is only rated at 735 cfm.I'll be looking for suggestions as this progresses.
