Cool Sounds like a cool project

I am in Lacey, probably not more than 30 to 40 miles from you. So what actual carbs have you decided on? I am a bit confused...maybe you have not decided.

I am under the impression that anything but the stock height ( oval type ) air filter housing, or the equivalent height unit, will require hood alterations. Take a look at the post/link I made earlier in this thread for one way to modify the hood with a *thru* scoop, for a lot more fresh air and a taller area for custom or unusual intakes. Looks great, and I think it will really help carry away some of the engine compartment heat. It also would allow you to see the filter housing and engine torque from the cockpit

Another thing to consider is header wrap or jackets....it helps channel the heat from the headers OUT thru the pipes, instead of letting it radiate into the engine bay. I would love to check out your car, and certainly it will be fun to see it when running.
