A dropped floor in an ERA would require cutting/notching the top of the main chassis member. I've never seen it done. The aluminum floor is then riveted directly to the rectangular tube frame rail. Jack can put less foam in the seat and the seat can be bolted directly to the floor (without adjusters) to gain an inch or two.
