Surface transitions are usually not a problem unless they are wet (asphalt to concrete or pick your surfaces), what usually happens is there is a weight shift due to the transition and then the surface on the front tires does not match that of the back tires and one winds up losing traction. Many tracks around here have surface transitions and only real major issue one is PIR when leaving the chicane
