Default Re-spring rear end

Maybe i'll ask this from a different perspective, my car which i believe to be a 1990 build of an LA exotic , ( neither confirmed or denied at this point) REALLY needs new coil springs in the rear, at least thats what i would suspect (i do not have coil over shocks), i do not have any specs on the car nor do i believe there are any part numbers on the present springs, what procedure should i go thru to replace these springs with something to raise the stance an inch or even 2 to stop the bottoming out. I would assume i should at least try & measure the gauge of the present spring steel as well as the length and diameter of the spring as it sits on the floor & somehow go from there, does anyone have any experience with this? it seems around here all of the so-called spring shops don't actually dabble in automotive springs , just trucks...i would appreciate any info...regards
