Don't let these guys shuck you to much but you do have options. You can start with the stiff clutch as a negotiating tool. New clutch and pressure plate $300 or less, new hyd throw out assembly about $500 or you could go a different route and go look at more cars. By the way just a shot in the dark but I would guess if you had someone do the labor for you you might be looking at over $500. If he say's he can fix it for $300 offer him an additional $300 with the clutch fixed but ask for all the used parts replaced.
