When I have the Cobra running and insured, my daily driver is the Cobra as long as the weather permits. I bought one already constructed, found what I wanted, one that was built for street use and already had a chip or two, with full intentions of driving it on a daily basis. I carry a car cover in the trunk in case a rainstorm comes up unexpectedly.
During times of inclement weather (or, when the Cobra isn't running or registered), I drive a 1998 Honda Accord with a VTEC V-6. It has over 200,000 miles, gets 34 MPG, never uses any
oil between changes (5,000 mile intervals), runs like a top, and has pretty spirited performance for a factory stock car.
I am planning an 870 mile (one way) trip soon.....hoping to be able to make it in the Cobra.
That brings to mind a question.....I've never driven the Cobra any further than 200 miles in a single day. I'd like to know what the longest distance people have ever driven their Cobras on the road in a single day. I'm use to making 600 to 700 miles a day in the Honda, but I doubt that I can tolerate that much in the Cobra. The buffeting from the wind (even with the wind wings) seems to tire one out easily!
