Im pretty sure it was scantool I got to work OK (it looks a very basic program but has everything you should need for the basics). I had to fiddle with the connection settings first though - it was a few years ago. memory is fading, but I seem to remember having to do something first with scanmaster (I think it was a demo), and once I made a connection with that, scantool started to work too. Wish I could be more helpful.
