You could always paint it with high temp enamel. Simple green works good and is envrironmentally friendly. Carb spary works better and is not too friendly. If it is really bad, you could take a mild scotchbrite disc to it but do not hit the mating surfaces too much. It will make them uneven and the intake will not seal properly. By the way, this forum is for GT40 vehicles not intakes. Maybe a Moderator will move this to shop talk so you will get a better response.
