I'll upgrade the engine next. I'll have to decide between cam, headers or save up for both. When I do that I'll change over the carb to something better. For now the 650 Edelbrock does what I want it to do. It starts fine and runs great.

You are so right. Most people look only at peak horsepower numbers. The victor jr makes better peak HP but only if you rev the heck out of the engine. The dual plane intake wins everywhere else. Single planes have their place but it's very limited.

Years ago I was looking over posts and the guys at the time were going with single planes because they wanted to take TQ away from their take off so that they could hook up their rear tires.

Now that I have had both on my car I can honestly say that the dual plane suits me better.
