I grew up with this car. I remember the day We went to Auburn Indiana and got CSX2096 out of the Auborc-Cord Dusenburg Meuseum. It was an awsome day. I remember staring out the back window of the truck as she followed up on the trailer all the way home to Nashville, In.. I have put many of dents, blood, sweat and tears in that car. It was hard to see the car be sold over 19 years ago. That is when My heart bot broken. Now we will reunite again in Indianapolis. Thanks to Dave Painer, and Meecum.... I dont know how I will take it again seeing here again. It hurts to see one of the true loves of you life get sold. Only a trus car lover knows what I am going through. I still have scars on my right calf from the side pipes burns. I put the trany in the car late one night as my dad had given up, and was goignt o cancle or trip to Road America. At the last minuet I got the splines ligned up and it slid in smooth into the bell housing. Needless to say, I got a good ride in around the track. After that event, Dad had melted the drivers side rear fender and bubbled the paint right off the aluminum. We also had traded 2096 for 2172. I put a lot of time in with 2172, but 2096 still has my heart. I have a tear in my eye now, but will not be rey as I am on the block next to here as she goes to a new home. I hope her new owner treats her well and uses her like she needs to be used. I have never been another small block that can roast the tires through 3rd gear...that is stock.. Thanks for letting me vent here, since you guys will understand.. I hope.
Thanks
Andy
