Best prank ever was pulled on me.
In college, I had a ratty '58 Corvette with a broken ignition switch; you just turned it to start...no key.
When I parked it, I would take out the rotor and pull the coil wire and tuck it in my pocket.
Parked the Vette at a girlfriend's house and went in a full-sized car with another couple to a party. Got back around 2 a.m. to find the Vette gone.
Sinking feeling in stomach pit.
Seems my date's brother, also a car guy, got home before us, saw the car, saw the switch left on "off"...and decided to move the car.
Wouldn't start. He had a Camaro. Vette wouldn't start and it took him about five minutes to figure it out. Pulled a spare rotor and coil wire from his parts bin, started the car and moved it around back of the house.
I didn't find it all that funny. Got the ignition switch changed that Monday.
