The GM stop leak tablets for the Cadillac Northstar might be the best bet. We use the exact tool mentioned - a bolt head welded to a 1/2 drive deep socket, and we install them with teflon paste. Tried silicone but went back to the teflon. Still get a "weeper" on the dyno from time to time.

Seems like most OE ones I get in have signs of leakage too - rust stains from the plug...
