This should be the last of the post mortem stuff and it should start going back together tomorrow. This first pic is of the cam and as I had hoped only the one lobe was damaged and I still don’t see marks on anything other than the lobe.
The second is just a closer view of the lobe and you can see how little of the lobe was damaged.
The last pic is the filter element after its draining and removal. This filter was put on the car when it had about 1 hour of running on it and it has run for an additional 4 since then. There’s really not much to see; there are some tiny metallic pieces in it but judging from their reaction, or should I say non-reaction, to a magnet I’d say that nearly all of them are non-ferrous. Would what you guys see here be a problem or just stuff getting shed off a new build?
