Congratulations on your first drive ... the first of countless fun drives to follow. Sounds like a few items to fix, hope the copper shavings issue is not too difficult resolve. For the speedo do you have the correct cable? There are different speedo cable drive gears listed in the ERA manual, and rear tire diameter plays a roll in this as well.
