Thought I would share some info on the CV joints in these Nissan rear ends. My driver's side outer CV has developed a 'click' and I found it also has a split boot that's leaking grease.

The local CV place said they can only get replacement CVs from Nissan so I called the dealer and they're $350 changeover.

For second hand units, the going rate at the wreckers is $100-150. The CV guy can fit new boots and re-grease for $55 per side, which is fairly cheap insurance if you want to avoid replacing them outright.
