Rear shocks location

Sounds like you are having no problems only running a single shock per side to the rear, has the car always been set up like that?
I'm still somewhat sceptical given the variance between the twin shock set up and a single but perhaps it is all ok under all but say race driving loads. Can anyone answer this ?
And are the shocks at the front or back of the mounting assembly?
