I have always thought that the top oilers were solid lifter blocks....it was only in 68 that hydraulics became available.

I do not think that the top oiler was ever used in the 427 Cobra as (I think) they stopped making them before they started making the 427 Cobra.

I had a top oiler high rise engine - bought it for my car - had to sell it...
