Last experience at CHP with a friend was they installed one and told the owner to do as many as he wanted in various locations throughout the vehicle. The REF will ask you where you want to put your exempt sticker (sb-100), usually in engine compartment but I've seen them inside vehicle as long as you have a place to stick it to. Just keep it away from something real hot in engine compartment that's all.
