All the internal bearings (pinion and carrier) were good looking quality stuff. They had Timken stamped into them. Looked just like all the stuff I saw in the past.
The wheel bearings were the only one Made In China. After pulling the seals and flushing out what little grease, if you could call it grease, I am fairly confident the Chinese made bearing is made well. It just has poor quality grease in it and not much of it. Only time will tell, but I do not expect to have any more problems.
Mind you this is only the wheel bearing for a 9" Ford. As I understand it that bearing was not used in many other applications if any. That is the problem. They do not want to tool up to make a bearing that is very low volume in sales, for a part that is no longer manufactured. In other words it is a low volume market that is slowly going away.
