My doors have a steel frame/intrusion bar and with inner skin, upholstery and hardware each weighs about 20 lbs. With the added bar and 'glassing in the door skin, you'd save what - maybe 10 lbs total?

Heck, just leave the car as is and jump over the door anyway - you'll lose more than that over time from the exercise alone. Plus, you'll retain the option of toting female companions in the passenger seat if the need (or opportunity) ever presents itself.

For a full fledged track car with no passenger seat it may be worth doing.
