Can you re-clarify your readings please?

Your reading of 8.42, is this ohms or Kohms?

Typical temp senders are all NTC - negative temperature coefficient, meaning as temp increases, resistance decreases.

PTC is temp increase, resistance increase - just like any normal metal, steel, copper etc.
