I am putting in three sets of these, with the matching Gladiator sealed MDF benchtops.

Now, these are rather too nice and shiny for welding and grinding, so I also have another actual "work" bench, which I got for free from a school, I think it is an art or woodwork bench, stool-sitting height. Its a solid steel frame with a wooden top, and I have cut and bolted my old particle board/laminex kitchen bench to that for a more solid surface.

As a task in my garage refresh I will be ditching both tops, refinishing/painting the steel frame and making a new top, surface is yet to be determined, so thanks for starting this conversation Mike I was thinking of some sort of hardwood, or gal/zinc steel-wrapped MDF or wood of some sort. Would welcome suggestions.
