He kept telling Bob that he (the older guy, not Bob) is too tall to fit into a Cobra. I told this guy that Bob owns and drives that Unique 289. He just kept repeating that he was too tall for a Cobra.
Two neat tricks Bob uses to fit:
1. Dash cut out. Bob has cut out a semi circular portion of the dash along the lower edge between the steering wheel and gearshift to give his right leg clearance.
2. Bob uses memory foam in the driver's seat. This is really neat stuff. Both seats in bob's Unique look identical, but when you sit in the driver's seat, the foam padding compresses about 4 inches to about 1/2 inch in thickness. This way Bob gets additional leg room and sit lower in the cockpit. The special foam always returns to its original shape no matter how long it's been squeezed, so when you get out of the seat, you can watch it rise back to original thickness. Both seats look thickly padded and original.
